Geotech Provides Fast and Comprehensive Customer Support
The Sale is Not Finished Until Our Clients Know How to Use Our Software
Support
Support is only a mouse click away. Geotech’s new AI Support Chatbot is primed with all our printed documentation including over 120 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to provide you with quick answers. Additionally, a support professional is available either by
One of our customers, Michael Mejac, Data/GIS Manager, Natural Resource Technology, Inc., said this about the service provided by one of our customer support staff: "I just wanted to take a second to express my gratitude for the support that Russ has provided to us. He is always extremely timely, and proactive on solving issues."
Documentation
Geotech provides comprehensive user documentation, including a getting started guide and a regularly updated manual spanning over 700 pages. For the laboratories that provide your data, we also offer a lab format document detailing all the data requirements for a quick and easy import of your data. Each of these documents are illustrated with many figures showing how to accomplish the tasks.
Training

Although Geotech's software is easy to use, we do strongly encourage training for first time users. These services can be obtained directly from Geotech. Training can also be very helpful for those wishing to perform their own customization work. Training classes can be presented at your location, Geotech's office in Colorado, or via Microsoft Teams.
Enviro Data also includes a Tour in both the Editor and Viewer that takes the user through a number of common scenarios they will encounter when using the software. The Tour is paired with an example database that contains real data and utilizes the built-in reports and exports, including the Crosstab.
While Geotech provides our customers training specifically for our Enviro System software, we also provide general training to the environmental industry on environmental data management concepts and practices. Our industry training is offered in conjunction with various conventions and conferences. You can see examples of our free documents and seminars here.
Terms and Conditions
Geotech is dedicated to maximizing the value you gain from our Enviro software system, designed to manage, report, and display environmental data efficiently. We believe the best results stem from close collaboration between vendors and users. We try to foster a spirit of communication between ourselves and our clients. We strive to develop long-term relationships with our clients by providing them with a comprehensive solution for managing their environmental data. We believe that our Terms and Conditions enable us to achieve cooperation, open communication and ongoing relationships that foster happy customer relationships. Every software purchase includes an optional maintenance agreement. This agreement covers new software releases during the maintenance period and includes support via Microsoft Teams, email, or phone for software usage issues—up to the maximum number of hours allocated per license annually. Additional hours of support are available at a cost.
Unless you have paid Geotech for modifications, the Enviro software is sold “as-is.” Geotech warrants its software to be free from “bugs,” and will fix a bug as quickly as possible. A “bug” is an error in the specified logic of the software that prevents a function in the software from working or generates an incorrect result when run with valid data. A flaw in the data that prevents it from being selected, displayed, reported, calculated, imported or exported correctly is not a bug, but a problem with the data. Missing or flawed data, unless caused by the software, is not a bug. A 'bug' does not refer to user preferences for different functionality or additional features beyond the current software design.
Customization
The maintenance agreement does not include customizations for our software. If these are needed, reach out to Geotech to discuss your specific needs. We will be happy to provide a detailed proposal outlining the modifications and an estimated cost for implementation. Geotech will support our modifications and any problems resulting from them, either under a current maintenance agreement or via a separate contract. We will maintain these modifications in future builds of the software where practical. Additionally, some custom features developed for other clients are generally made available to everyone after a brief period.
Updates and Fixes
Our software is updated on a regular basis. It is generally backwards compatible and any changes needed to be made to the database are usually automatically done as the programs are updated. In the case of a SQL database, scripts are provided free of charge to make required changes. Our user documentation is also updated regularly—typically several times a year.
Custom Data Loading
If you have data that needs to be loaded into Enviro Data—or even historical records requiring conversion and integration—Geotech offers comprehensive data services. We can work with hard-copy or digital data in various formats to deliver a coherent, accurate dataset and provide a detailed proposal with an estimated cost for your project's needs. Over the years, we’ve successfully converted and imported multiple projects involving millions of records into our Enviro System. For instance, we assisted a medium-sized consulting company by migrating 20,000 records from an aging, poorly designed in-house database that no longer suited their business needs. Despite challenges with poor data normalization, we completed the migration in under a day. In a larger project, we migrated over two million records spanning twenty years for a major steel plant. This included consolidating data from two extensive databases and hundreds of laboratory files into one consistent database—all accomplished within just a week and a half.
If you have paper copies of old historic lab reports that need importing, we use AI to "read" these files, run multiple data checks to ensure accuracy, and even decipher handwritten notes. The AI extracts printed text from data tables, saves it into rows, and captures page headings and other text to assign them to the appropriate fields. Once in a digital format we can put it into an Excel file for review and make any edits or corrections needed. We then begin the import using custom queries to make any needed changes and/or to add default entries to provide missing information. Once the trial import is clean we do a final import into Enviro Data. Using this process, Geotech recently successfully imported thousands of pages of soil and water lab reports dating back to the 1990s. Many of those pages had holes punched in them (for use in a binder), some data had been crossed out or written over, and pages had been skewed when originally copied the AI was trained to work with and resolve almost all issues. It even logged the location and nature of any remaining problems. If handwritten notes appeared on a page, the AI successfully read and saved those as well.
