The Settings8.mdb file is created when installing Enviro Data for the first time and stores most of the settings used for reporting, importing and exporting data. It also keeps track of your current database. Setting8 is typically stored in the same folder as the main program files, C:\Enviro\EData8. If for some reason Setting8 is not attached to either the Editor or the Viewer, you will be asked attach to it when you open them. Additionally, Setting8 is sometimes upgraded along with your database when installing an upgrade with a Repair install. See What is a Repair Install during an Enviro Data upgrade, and why should I use it?
If you are switch to a new PC, it is important that you keep your original Settings8 (and some other) files so you can copy them after Enviro Data is installed on the new computer. You can also share this file with other users that have the same workflow that you have.
